ABOUT DR. LISA AVIRETT, LMFTA

 Dr. Lisa Avirett is the founder and owner of Everlight Therapeutic Counseling Services. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) with a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Community Care & Counseling with a specialization in Traumatology. Dr. Avirett is dedicated to supporting individuals who carry unseen burdens and helping them move toward healing, resilience, and renewed hope.

With a strong clinical foundation in trauma-informed care, Dr. Avirett brings experience working with substance use and co-occurring disorders, as well as complex trauma presentations. She has supported individuals navigating addiction recovery, PTSD, Acute Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety, and grief, always approaching care with compassion, clinical integrity, and respect for each client’s story.

Dr. Avirett has specialized training and experience working with:

• Law enforcement professionals and first responders
• Birthmothers and individuals impacted by adoption 
• Survivors of domestic violence and sex trafficking 
• Individuals recovering from narcissistic abuse and relational trauma

Her clinical work is informed not only by professional training but also by meaningful experience in adoption-related support, allowing her to offer unique empathy and understanding to birthmothers and families navigating complex emotional journeys.

She is trained in the Flash Technique, an evidence-based trauma intervention designed to reduce distress associated with traumatic memories. Her therapeutic approach integrates trauma-informed care, evidence-based interventions, and a relational, strengths-based perspective to support lasting healing.

Dr. Avirett believes healing often begins when people feel truly seen, heard, and safe. She strives to create a supportive and respectful environment where clients can process difficult experiences, rebuild resilience, and rediscover hope. While her care is grounded in clinical best practices, she also honors each client’s personal values and sources of meaning, recognizing that faith, spirituality, and purpose can be important resources in the healing process when desired by the client. 

 Dr. Avirett provides compassionate, collaborative care tailored to each individual’s needs. She believes therapy should be a place of safety, honesty, and growth, where clients are empowered to reclaim their strength and move forward with clarity, purpose, and hope.
